CONGRATULATIONS SCIENCE FAIR PROJECT WINNERS!
The judges have selected your project to compete at the district science fair!
PLEASE REMEMBER TO:
1. COMPLETE YOUR REGISTRATION and get your form signed by your parents, your sponsor teacher and by Marnie Birkeland (the science fair coordinator). MUST BE DONE BEFORE FEB 4th!!

2. Fix your project! Make your poster board even better! Do MORE TRIALS!! Do statistics and make better graphs and charts! Make certain that you have met all the SAFETY REQUIREMENTS!! And have all of your FORMS signed! Check out this page on the website to find the CHECKLIST we will use to determine if you are eligible to move on to the regional level (safety and ethics forms are on same page): http://www.weebly.com/weebly/main.php#
COMPETITIVE STUDENTS:
This year the BEST IN FAIR will win a LAPTOP (or 2 laptops for a pair). And…The top 30 competitive projects move on to regionals. You DO WANT TO MAKE IT TO THE REGIONALS so you can win scholarships, money and a chance to go to Lethbridge for a week for free to compete at the national science fair.
NON-COMPETITIVE STUDENTS (K-5):
Top non-competitive projects will WIN REALLY COOL SCIENCE PRIZES (see possible awards on webpage)!
3. Get your field trip permission class form signed by your teachers before Friday February 8th.
4. COMPETITIVE STUDENTS (grade 6-12) must figure out:
a. A ride so you can QUICKLY get to the Okanagan College after school on Tuesday February 12th. You must be there by 3:00 so you can get set up before the judges arrive!
b. Who is going to pick you up on Tuesday evening at 7pm?
c. Who is going to drop you off Wednesday (Feb. 13th) morning at 8:45am?
d. Who is going to pick you up on Wednesday afternoon at 3:15pm (awards ceremonies begin at 2:30pm).
5. NON-COMPETITIVE STUDENTS (K-5) must figure out:
a. A ride so you can get to the Okanagan College on Wednesday February 13th. You must be there by 8:30 am so you can get set up before the judges arrive!
b. Who is going to pick you up on Wednesday afternoon at 3:15pm (awards ceremonies begin at 2:30pm).
6. Make certain that you are confident and ready to present your science fair project to the judges! Shake their hands! Be passionate about what you did and what you discovered! Show off your graph making and statistics skills!
7. This will be a great experience for you! You will be meeting other scientists from other schools around the district, and will get to see what everyone else is doing! Plus… free food and cool challenges on Friday afternoon! It sounds like a great reason to miss a day of school!
